2) X Drill

- Start on the left post, t-push diagonally to top of the crease on the right side
- t-push across the top of the crease to the left side parallel to the top of the crease
- T-push back to the right post.    Repeat in the opposite direction
- 3-4 times per goalies make sure goalie is square on all angles to a would-be shooter

3) C Drill

- Start at the edge of the red painted line on the crease (by either post)
- Shuffle continuously across the top of the crease to the other post
- make sure feet are always touching the red line, making the C formation
- 3-4 times per goalie, ensure good stick discipline

4) 4 Puck Drill

This drill works on the goaltenders movement within the crease in addition to listening skills and focus on pucks behind the net.

-Place 4 pucks behind the net as shown, assign each of them a number.

-The goalie, in their set stance listens for the coach to call out any number from 1 to 4

-The goalie will position themselves according to the puck that is called using good post-to-post shuffles

-The goalie must make eye contact with each puck called, continue calling different numbers out in any order for 15-20 seconds

Variation: After 15-20 seconds, command "shot" and have the goalie challenge out to the top of crease for a quick shot from the slot.

5) Pass cut-offs/Post to slot challenge

This drill works on the goalies ability to cut off a pass from behind the net. In addition, it works on reaction from the post to the slot in a pass-out situation.

-Player 1 (X1) behind the net makes pass 1

-Goalie tries to cut off pass out front with stick using short poke check.

-If passes gets through to X2, challenge and play the shot

-Repeat on other side using X3

Remember: Lead with your stick and arms. Always keep lower half of body facing the slot.
