Goalie Drills

  • Skating the Crease (aka The Goalie's Alphabet) Goaltenders do not need alot of space to practice their skating. In fact, most of the goalie's skating is done in the crease. To Practice crease skating you should incorperate "Letter formations" to simulate different situations. For example the letter "X" incorperates the t-push to get the goaltender from the post diagonally to the top of the crease.
  • Four Puck Drill To simulate player movement behind the net place 4 pucks at various points. Assign each puck a number. The coach, who is positionned in the slot with pucks will call out a series of numbers which the goalie will corrsepond by shuffling across to the number called. atis et quasi architecto beatae vitae dicta sunt explicabo. Nemo enim ipsam voluptatem quia voluptas sit aspernatur aut odit aut fugit, sed quia consequuntur magni dolores eos qui ratione voluptatem.
  •  Fast Feet Drill Set up 7-8 pucks around the outside of the crease as shown in the photo/ Have the goalie start on the post in the Vertical-Horizantal (V-H) pad position. The shooter will take a shot with puck #1 and move rapidly to shoot the other pucks. The goalie will have to use quick feet to follow around the top of the crease to make the save on each of the additional pucks. Repeat from the other direction.
